Part 1に引き続き、fadeのラストステージ『Crossroad Live Tour 2014 ～HISTORIA～』の模様をお送りしよう。前半の展開は、彼らが過去にリリースした音より、彼らの歴史をたどったもの。その中で彼らはステージを心から楽しむとともに、自らの全てをかたむけてプレーに没頭していた。彼らの表情に見られたものは、この12年のバンドの軌跡を振り返り、彼ら自身が歩んできた道に後悔はないことの確信。
 
続いた後半では、彼らが最新アルバムでやり残した思いを晴らすべく、最新アルバムのために書き下ろされながらも収録されなかったナンバーが取り上げられた。
 
Following Part 1, here we report the last stage of fade on “Crossroad Live Tour 2014 ～HISTORIA～”. The first half of the show traced their history from their tunes released in the past. During that, they enjoyed the stage from the heart and at the same time they were devoted to performing with full power. In their expressions, through looking back at the past, the confidence was seen that there was no regret in their own path that they walked for 12 years.
 
In the latter part of the show, the band played the numbers that are never put on the record although they had been written for the latest album, so that they could get unfinished things for the album done.

ステージはいよいよ後半に突入した。お立ち台に座りながら、アルバム『Age of Innocence』に収録された曲「face」を歌い上げたJon。この後に続いた「Emblem of Resilience」「Never Say Die」そして「GLORY」は、2月に発表されたニューアルバムに対して作られながらも、お蔵入りとなったもの。「Emblem of Resilience」「Never Say Die」は先だって行われた大阪、名古屋公演でそれぞれプレーされたものだったが、「GLORY」はラストとなるこの日だけでプレーされた。まさに最初で最後となる演奏。これらの楽曲がアルバムに入れば、ニューアルバムの見え方はまた違ったものになったのかもしれない。観衆はそんな思いをそれぞれの表情にたたえながら、しっかりと彼らの姿を脳裏に焼き付けるように、目線をステージに集中させていた。
 
The latter half of the show started. Jon sang “face” from the album “Age of Innocence” sitting on the stand. “Emblem of Resilience”, “Never Say Die” and “GLORY” followed, which are never put on the record although they had been written for the new album released in February. Although “Emblem of Resilience” and “Never Say Die” were played at the preceding shows in Osaka and Nagoya respectively, “GLORY” was played only on this final day. It was exactly the first time and the last time to play this song. If these songs had been in the new album, it would have been something different. With such a feeling in their expressions, the audiences were concentrated on the stage so as to burn the band into their memory.

 
 

 

いよいよステージの終幕に向けてラストスパート、その前の景気づけとばかりに、fadeのステージではおなじみであったkanseiのジャックダニエル一気飲みへ。「Tokyo！盛り上がってるか！」いつもと変わらずフレンドリーに、そして元気にフロアに話しかけていたkansei。彼の一気飲みが始まると、その気持ちをあおり、さらにステージを盛り上げるように5°のギターがスリリングに舞い、noriyukiとruiのリズムが気持ちを奮い立たせた。
 
Before putting out a last spurt toward the end of the show, kansei drank Jack Daniel’s in a single gulp just like enlivenment, which was common for fade’s shows. “Tokyo! Are you having fun?”, kansei talked friendly and vigorously to the audiences on the floor as usual. As he started to drink, godo’s guitar sounded thrillingly just like agitating kansei’s feeling and further pumping up the stage, with noriyuki and rui’s rhythm leading to excitement.

 
 
 

 
そして「Break Away」から、Jonの「ガンガンあげていくぞ！Tokyo！」という一声より「Let it Go」へ。続いてポップながらセンチメンタルな雰囲気を持つ「Ever Free」、「Close to you」。まるでfade自身がファンたちとの美しい思い出を回想するような光景がそこに表れた。そして「コズミカリズム」から、Jonの「Tokyo、今日は本当にありがとう！」という最後の一言を経て、ラストを迎えた。曲は「Kings of Dawn」。ゆったりしたリズムの中にも激情感をふんだんに込めたサウンド。それは彼らのバンドとしての活動に、悔いは残していないという気持ちを改めて会場中の観衆に示していたようにも見えた。
 
Then, following “Break Away”, Jon said “Make more noise! Tokyo!”, leading to “Let It Go”. Then, “Ever Free” and “Close to You” with a catchy but sentimental mood were played. It was the scene just like fade themselves were recalling beautiful memories with their fans. Then following “Cosmicalism”, the show reached the finale after Jon said “Tokyo, thank you very much for tonight!” lastly. The final song was “Kings of Dawn” – sounds filled with passion in a slow rhythm. It appeared that the band again showed to the audiences in the venue that they had no regret in what they did as a band.

 
 
 

 
「fade!」「fade!」「fade!」彼らにアンコールをせがむ声が続き、彼らは再びステージに現れた。ビールを片手に現れたnoriyuki。全身全霊を傾けてプレーを繰り出すnoriyukiのステージングは、いつもは「黙々と自分のやるべきことをやる」といわんばかりに人一倍プレーに徹しているようにも見えていたが、この日の彼にも時にリラックスし、穏やかにプレーを楽しんでいるような表情が見えた。そしてJonの「一緒に歌ってくれますか!?」という呼びかけから「So Far Gone」へ。
 
“fade!”, “fade!”, “fade!” – as the audiences continued to beg for an encore, the band appeared on the stage again. noriyuki appeared with beer in his hand. He always had put his heart and soul into his performance and appeared to devote himself in it more than anybody else, but that night he sometimes looked relaxed and enjoying the performance calmly. As Jon said “Will you sing with me?!”, “So Far Gone” was started.
 
 
 
 

 
続いて「Beautiful」。この曲はfadeのナンバーの中でも初期からずっとプレーされていた、彼らと彼らのファンにとって非常に大切なもの。「最後になるなんて信じられないけど…みんな一緒に歌ってくれよ、Tokyo!」Jonが時に言葉を詰まらせながらも観衆に語り掛け、メロディをフロアの観衆とともに歌を口ずさみ始めた。「It’s so Beautiful.」Jonを気遣い、そっと彼の背中を叩いて支えていたkansei。いよいよラスト。静けさの中にギターのアルペジオが響いた。その中でJonが礼を告げた。「今まで応援していただいた皆さん。この12年間、本当にありがとうございました。」
 
そしてラスト曲「Ten」へ。「この瞬間が、ずっと続けばいいのに…」優しさを感じさせるメロディに合わせて体を揺らしていた観衆。その胸の内には、そんな気持ちもあったに違いない。まさに彼らの集大成を刻み込んだ「Ten」。そして、いよいよ終焉。最後にJonからの気持ちを込めたメンバー、スタッフの紹介を終えると、ステージは有終の美を飾った。
 
Then, “Beautiful” was played. Among fade’s songs, this had been played all the time since the early time so it is very important for the band and their fans. “I can’t believe this is the end…please sing with me, Tokyo!”, Jon talked to the audiences almost choking up with tears, and started to singing the melodies together with the audiences on the floor. “It’s so beautiful.” kansei gently patted Jon on his back and supported him with care. Finally as the song reached the end, the guitar arpeggio sounded in the stillness. Jon expressed his gratitude, “Thank you very much for supporting us for the last 12 years.”
 
The last song was “Ten”. The audiences were rocking their bodies to the gentle melodies. “Wish this moment would last forever…” they must have had such a feeling in their mind. “Ten” was engraved with the band’s compilation. The show reached the finale. Lastly when Jon finished introducing the band members and staff in his hearty way, the show successfully ended.

この日のステージでfadeは、いつもと同じように彼ららしい、刺々しさと激しさをサウンドの中に表現していた。しかし一方では、メンバーそれぞれが自己の意志を目一杯さらけ出し、彼ら自身の様々な思いをその表情の上に見せた。
 
結成から12年の歳月を経て、彼らが作り上げてきたもの、その軌跡。バンドが歩んできた道のりの中で、彼らが感じたものすべてが映し出されたステージとなった。ライブを終え、会場を後にした観衆たちの気持ちは、どのようなものだっただろう？ステージ終了後、ステージのそばで一人の女性がすすり泣く姿があった。fadeというバンドが一つの時を終えるという事実に対して、感傷的な気持ちにならざるを得なかったのだろう。それは仕方のないことかもしれない。
 
しかし、すでに彼らは前を向き、次のステップへ歩き始めている。ラストの「Ten」をプレーする前に、Jonは語った。「すべての始まりには、終わりが来る。でも、すべての終わりに、また新たな始まりがあると思う」きっとfadeというバンドに出会い感動を共有した者たちも、ここから新たな気持ちで未来に道に進んでいける。そう信じたくなるような美しい終幕だった。fadeは、彼らならではの一つのスタイルを完成させた。この事実を彼らは自身の糧として新たな道を突き進む。彼らとこの日気持ちを共にしたfade family（fadeファンの総称）も、そんなポジティブな未来に向かってもらえることを、願わずにはいられない。
 
During the show on that day, fade expressed their own sharpness and intensity in the sound. On the other hand each of the band members revealed their own will to the full extent and showed their different feelings on their expressions.
 
What they have created for 12 years since the beginning and their path – the show reflected everything they have experienced in the course of the band. I wonder what the audiences felt when they left the venue after the show finished. There was a lady who was weeping beside the stage after the show. It seemed she couldn’t help feeling sentimental over the fact that fade put an end to one period. There might have been no choice.
 
However they are already going forward to the next step. Before playing the last song “Ten”, Jon said, “Every beginning has the end. But I believe there’s a new beginning again after every end”. All the people who met fade and shared the emotion will be able to advance to the future on a new note – the beautiful finale made me believe so. fade has completed their own style. With this fact as a benchmark for themselves, they will go into a new way. I can’t help hoping that the “fade family“ (fade fans), who shared the feelings with the band that day, will go forward into the positive future.
